Fitting the SVNTY6 Rear Barn Door Table for the 76 Series (and 78 Series) Toyota LandCruiser.
Australian made products are our first choice where it is possible. Therefore, we use a range of SVNTY6 Australian made products. Supporting small Australian businesses making it happen here is paramount. The SVNTY6 barn door table is made in Brisbane. The barn door table is precision cut from 3mm aluminium, then professionally folded, and finally finished in our favourite textured black powder coat. All hardware used on the SVNTY6 barn door table is stainless steel so will not rust. You are provided all hardware required for fitting the barn door table. Being that the main components of this table are made from aluminium, it is extremely lightweight compared to any alternatives we have seen for the 76 Series Toyota LandCruiser. The advertised weight is 4.4kgs. We tested this out with our handheld luggage scale, which is not 100% accurate, coming in at 4.5kgs.
Overall fitting the SVNTY6 rear barn door table to our 76 Series Toyota LandCruiser was extremely simple. This should take no longer than an hour to complete the install. To watch the installation video, please follow the YouTube link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YL79xTOIjkI
Once we have done a few more trips and a bit more testing, we will post a detailed review of the SVNTY6 rear barn door table for the 76 Series Toyota LandCruiser. Until then, join the 4WD Adventurer Community to keep up to date on our future posts here. To read our other posts on our 76 Series Toyota Land Cruiser build you can find them here.
Thanks for reading as always, we really appreciate the support.

Guest blog by Peter at 4WD Adventurer on our Maxtrax Angled Mounting Bracket designed for the Rhino-Rack Pioneer Platform.

]]>In this post we take an in depth look at the Maxtrax angled mounting bracket for the Rhino Rack Pioneer Platform by SVNTY6. This post gives you a detailed look at these brackets made here in Brisbane, Australia.
One of our pain points with storage (on the Rhino Rack Pioneer Platform) has been (with) our Maxtrax recovery tracks.
So which Maxtrax angled mounting bracket?
There are a range of different products in the marketplace that allow you to side mount your Maxtrax, all with different features and price points. This is a great benefit of having a Pioneer Platform as they are popular and as a result there are many different suppliers making accessories for this particular roof rack setup. The Rhino Rack Maxtrax storage options are expensive, we don’t like the look of them and you need to buy a bunch of different accessories if you want to carry more than two (this is for additional strength)...
Then came along SVNTY6, a newly established small business based in Brisbane. SVNTY6 are manufacturing all of their gear locally in Australia and put their gear through the test. Their range is small at the moment, but is growing rapidly. All their gear is well thought out, very well made and unique in design and materials used. SVNTY6 manufacture a Maxtrax angled mounting bracket that has some great features so we bought one of theirs and this is what we think about it.
First impression of the Maxtrax angled mounting bracket is that it is extremely well made. The black powder coat finish is great and matches the Pioneer Platform perfectly. The bracket comes in two separate pieces. You get a pair of mounting plates, this is where you will add the Maxtrax mounting pins, and a pair of angled brackets that bolt onto your roof rack. We like the idea of having the bracket in two pieces as it does give you a number of added benefits.
Firstly, the Maxtrax angled mounting bracket has as number of mounting points. This allows you to set your Maxtrax at different heights. This is great for different setups. It allowed us to get the bottom of the Maxtrax just above the top of the rear door and not have the top of the Maxtrax sitting too high for our garage clearance. Secondly, if for some reason on a particular trip you didn’t want to have your Maxtrax mounted on the side of your 4WD and instead on top of your roof rack, you could just mount the mounting plates on your roof rack as another storage option without using the side angled bracket. You might never decide to do this, however it is always great to know that there are other options / uses for the bracket in the event that you did.
Thirdly, the side angled brackets that mount to your roof rack have elongated holes. This is another great feature of these brackets as it allows you more flexibility when mounting to your roof rack as the elongated holes give you plenty of adjustment by sliding the brackets in our out. These elongated holes are also great as it could give you the option to use these on other types of roof racks (potentially) as the holes are not fixed specifically for the dimensions of the Pioneer Platform. Finally, the brackets sit at a really good angle when your Maxtrax are mounted, they sit fairly vertical rather than at a weird angle. This is great as they don’t stick out too far and look really good when fitted.
OVERALL VERDICT
In summary, here is what we think of these SVNTY6 Maxtrax angled mounting brackets for the Pioneer Platform:

]]>In this post we review the EVA foam jerry can mount (or holder) for the Rhino Rack Pioneer Platform manufactured in Brisbane, Australia by SVNTY6.
Any 4WD Adventurer will need to carry at least one jerry can for additional fuel or water and finding the right storage mounting solution can be difficult with the range of products out there.
We decided to go with the SVNTY6 EVA foam jerry can mount (holder) for the Rhino Rack Pioneer Platform that is manufactured here in Brisbane, Australia. We have had great success with the other SVNTY6 Pioneer Platform mounting accessories and 70 Series Toyota Land Cruiser accessories. We discuss why we chose the SVNTY6 foam jerry can mount and how well it has worked for us while touring in the Australian outback as well as many other adventures.
What is EVA foam? EVA is the acronym for ethylene-vinyl acetate. It is also known as expanded rubber or foam rubber and has many uses in all sorts of products. It is used as a substitute in production for a range of other materials due to several benefits gained by using EVA foam over other materials especially in certain conditions. Here are the conditions and benefits of using EVA foam products:
The SVNTY6 foam jerry can mount (holder) has been precision CNC cut out of EVA foam sheeting with an 85kg / M3 density.
There are many other benefits of using a SVNTY6 EVA foam jerry can mount (holder) for the Pioneer Platform over traditional steel ones. These benefits are explored in greater detail on the 4WD Adventurer blog post and include;
- Impact and vibration absorption
- Weather and water resistance
- Less noise (than other common alternatives)
- Cheaper option than steel alternatives
- Light weight

This honestly has to be one of the best mods we have done to our LC76, having a fold down table for me has honestly finished off my setup in the back of the cruiser. Having fridge and power (240v, 12v Anderson and USBs) right next to the RDT makes life on the road so much more enjoyable! Making a coffee in the morning, beers and snacks at sundown or simply charging camera gear or phones it just works and once you're done using it simply folded it up and away you go.
So why choose Svnty6’s Rear Barn Door Table for your LC76 Wagon or LC78 Troopy?
We built this product for our 76 Land cruiser, it had to be perfect. The finished product was born from four prototypes, two where out of stainless steel and the third and fourth were made of aluminium.
Stainless steel looked good, polished finish with a tough and easy to clean surface. It seems great until you picked the table up and realised you were adding 10Kg to an already over loaded rear door (Tyre carrier is mounted to the rear door). Yes, we could have used a thinner material but it just looked cheap. So we settled on Aluminium and avoided the polished surface to save our eye and skin from the harsh Australia sun reflecting back at you when making a sambo.
Settling for a light weight, durable material with a textured black power coat offered so many benefits and it looked good!
Okay enough of the selling and talking the table up, these are the facts!
Yes our barn door table is 100% Australia Made, all parts sourced locally.

Still not convinced have a look what our customers have to say below, thanks for reading.
"Hi Richard.
Installed my table yesterday afternoon. Went in effortlessly, everything fitted and everything worked. Bit unusual for me as I generally find something to stuff up, but not this time. I needed 40mm clearance from the table to the drawers and I had about 44mm. Fits like a glove! Very happy with the product and the procedure. Your instructions were exactly right. Good luck with it for the future. If you come up with any more amazing 76 Series ‘goodies’ I will be more than interested. I will happily recommend this to others as I (when I) travel.
Stay safe and take care.
John"
"G'day mate
Just letting you know I installed the table this afternoon, and although it's not on a 76 it's on a Troopcarrier the fitment is 100% spot on.
"Hey mate
If you’re lucky enough to own a Toyota Landcruiser 70 series, you don’t have to read the news to know how valuable your rig is. But let me ask you this, how protected is your 4WD in the unexpected event of a fire?
Everyone knows we need at least one fire extinguisher in our 4WD, but is that enough!? If you’re a crack shot under pressure, your ‘one and only’ 1kg fire extinguisher is great. But if you miss, you’re up sh#t creek! So let's agree two fire extinguishers are the safer bet.
Okay now I know what you may be thinking, “Great, drop another $70.00 on rubbish I am probably never going to use. Then I have to deal with the massive inconvenience of mounting both fire extinguishers.”
That’s really what it’s about, the hassle of mounting your fire extinguishers. That’s why so many leave their valuable Toyota Landcruisers and 4WDs unprotected against fire. In the past, fire extinguishers have been a royal pain in the ass to mount. Not to mention they’re ugly, rattle & have a limited shelf life.
But there’s one massive incentive to keep fire extinguishers in your rig. To ensure your home job dual battery system doesn’t light up and turn your 4x4 into a hot box. That’s not a fun place to find yourself in and seriously, it happens more than you think!
So what's the solution? Don't be silly, get two fire extinguishers + two Svnty6 Fab Fire Extinguisher Brackets to keep your rig tidy and protected!
We’ve taken the guesswork out of installing your fire extinguishers into 4WDs. Now it’s super easy with Svnty6 Fab Fire Extinguisher Brackets. These brackets also remove that annoying rattle that can occur with unsecured fire extinguishers on bumpy roads. Plus, with a matte black powder coating our Fire Extinguisher Brackets will look sleek inside your rig.
For your protection, Svtny6 Fab have designed fire extinguisher brackets for both the driver and passenger sides. So that in the event of an emergency your fire extinguishers will be easily accessible from either side of your 4x4 for a quicker response.
You don’t have to take our word for it, head over to 4WDAdventures.com for an honest review on Svnty6 Fab fire extinguisher brackets. Pete, from 4WD Adventures, reviews the brackets, provides installation guides and pretty pictures of the brackets in action!
Whilst you’re on his page, it’s worth looking around at Pete’s collection of product reviews, 4WD locations, road trip recipes and a huge amount of information on Toyota 76 Series Landcruiser's.
